Randolph's rep calls weed charges 'false and misleading'
News broke Thursday that Zach Randolph was arrested Wednesday night on a felony charge of marijuana possession with intent to sell, which his camp denies.
''The charges are false and misleading," Randolph's agent and attorney, Raymond Brothers, told The Associated Press later Thursday. ''We're looking at all options to resolve this matter.''
Police indicted that the 36-year-old NBA big man, who signed with the Sacramento Kings last month, was taken into custody following a frantic situation between the LAPD and a large group of people who were gathered at a Los Angeles housing project. The cops seized guns, narcotics, and cash from the scene, while their cars were vandalized.
Meanwhile, the Kings provided the following statement to The Sacramento Bee's Jason Jones:
We are aware of the situation. We have no further comment at this time.
