Report: Cavs nearly landed George, Bledsoe in 3-team Kyrie trade

The Cleveland Cavaliers were on the verge of making a big splash prior to the open of free agency.
Before former general manager David Griffin parted ways with the organization, the Cavaliers were "close" to making a three-way deal with the Indiana Pacers and Phoenix Suns involving Kyrie Irving, sources told The Athletic's Jason Lloyd.
Paul George and Eric Bledsoe would've gone to Cleveland, Irving and Channing Frye would've headed to Phoenix, and the Pacers would've received the No. 4 pick in the 2017 draft as well as veterans Iman Shumpert and Jared Dudley.
It was reported last month that the Cavaliers had discussions with both the Phoenix Suns and Utah Jazz about being a partner in a Paul George trade, but failed to agree on a deal before the four-time All-Star was dealt to the Oklahoma City Thunder.
The Cavaliers still managed to find a new home for Irving, trading him to the Boston Celtics in exchange for Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic, and the Brooklyn Nets' unprotected 2018 first-round pick earlier this week.
