Report: Cavs will ask Celtics for another pick to finalize trade
The Cleveland Cavaliers will likely seek another draft pick from the Boston Celtics as further compensation in the Isaiah Thomas-Kyrie Irving trade, according to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
"Cleveland is going to try to inquire about a couple of the Celtics' young players - Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, who they tried to get (originally) ... that is very unlikely," Wojnarowski said on "Sportscenter" on Sunday. "But Boston still has a war chest of future first-round picks of their own, and some picks they control from other teams, and Cleveland is going to try to get one more of those to finalize this deal."

The blockbuster trade that was supposed to send Thomas, Jae Crowder, and the Brooklyn Nets' 2018 first-rounder to Cleveland in exchange for Irving is apparently in limbo due to Thomas' slow recovery from a hip injury. The Cavs reportedly want more compensation as a result.
Cleveland had previously asked Boston for Tatum, but reportedly got nowhere. The pick that the Celtics ultimately sent to the Cavs was the last from their infamous deal with the Nets, but Boston also has an extra first-rounder for next summer - one received from the Philadelphia 76ers in exchange for the No. 1 pick this year.
Cleveland has until Thursday to make a final decision on approving the trade, according to Wojnarowski.
