Pelicans' Hill could miss most of season after hamstring surgery
New Orleans Pelicans forward Solomon Hill underwent surgery for a proximal hamstring tear in his left leg and could be out for much of the regular season, the team announced Sunday.
The injury occurred during a basketball workout in Los Angeles.
A normal recovery time for such an injury is approximately six-to-eight months, with an official timetable for Hill to be announced at a later date.
The Pels will have to scrape the bottom of the barrel to find a replacement for Hill, as being $1.473 million below the hard cap provides them enough room to sign one minimum player.
In his first season in The Big Easy, Hill averaged seven points on just 38.3 percent shooting from the field and 34.8 percent from deep, along with 3.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, and 0.9 steals in 29.7 minutes per game.
The 26-year-old inked a four-year, $48-million contract with the Pelicans last summer.
