Kevin Durant is giving haters a taste of their own ... dessert?
On Tuesday, Nike released the KDX Red Velvet, a new colorway of Durant's signature shoe that appears to take aim at his critics.

The superstar joined the Golden State Warriors in free agency last summer following nine years with the Oklahoma City Thunder. The day he announced his decision, his former co-star Russell Westbrook shared a photo of cupcakes, which may have been a dig - their old teammate Kendrick Perkins used to call players "cupcake" when they were "acting soft."
When Durant visited his old stomping grounds for the first time as a member of the powerhouse Dubs, OKC fans booed him mercilessly and chanted "cupcake." Golden State came away with the win, and some of KD's teammates even picked up cupcake shirts from his haters.

Since then, the All-NBA forward captured his first championship and Finals MVP award. Now he has a shoe inspired by his favorite cupcake flavor to boot.
From Nike:
At the end of the day, winning is all that matters and anything else is just icing on the cake. The KDX 'Red Velvet' celebrates the smoothest player in the game and his undying quest for the sweet taste of victory.
The kicks hit shelves Sept. 1.
