NBA, players union to donate $1M to Hurricane Harvey relief

The NBA and the National Basketball Players Association announced Tuesday a joint donation of $1 million to organizations supporting Hurricane Harvey relief in Houston and southeast Texas.

Earlier in the day, Houston Rockets owner Les Alexander upped his initial donation from $4 million to $10 million. As of Tuesday, more than 3,400 people had been rescued in the Houston area, with an estimated 30,000 needing temporary shelter from flooding brought about from record rainfall.
