Investigation launched after Morrow claims racial profiling by police
Georgia's Department of Public Safety is investigating after Anthony Morrow said he was racially profiled during a police stop last week, per ESPN.
The unrestricted free agent shooting guard said he was driving from Charlotte to Atlanta to pick up his daughter when he was pulled over in Commerce, Ga., according to Rick Bonnell of The Charlotte Observer. The 31-year-old claimed he was frisked and searched by a police dog for any scent of drugs.
"I was humiliated on the side of the road," Morrow told Bonnell. "I had my (car’s) hood up and the trunk up. How much more did they need (to establish he wasn’t in possession of anything illegal)?"
Morrow posted a series of videos on Instagram shortly after the incident.
"I felt degraded," Morrow said. "I know what I stand for; humanity and peace."
