LaVar says Steve Nash not working out with Lonzo, calls him 'short and slow'
It had been a while since LaVar Ball threw shade on a retired NBA superstar, so he caught up on that this past week.
When asked if there was any truth to a rumor that future Hall of Fame point guard Steve Nash was working out with his son Lonzo, LaVar said he didn't think so.
"I'd say no," Ball told ClutchPoints' Ryan Ward. "The reason I say no because if he was, my son would've said, 'You know what I'm working out with Steve Nash'. What Steve Nash going to teach my boy? He's short and slow, man. Come on."
Nash is a consultant for the Golden State Warriors, although that wouldn't preclude him from unofficially working out with a player. And as far as the senior Ball's shot at the third-leading assist man in NBA history goes, consider the source. Ball, who averaged 2.2 points in 26 college games at Washington State in 1987-88, has also once opined he would've beat Michael Jordan one-on-one in his prime.
This may be another bad omen for the Balls. On Saturday, Lil B threatened to place the Based God Curse on Lonzo for perceived disrespect of rap pioneer Nas, while these Nash comments could unleash the wrath of Canada on LaVar.
