Diaw to sign in France
Au revoir Bobo.
Veteran Boris Diaw will sign in his native France with Paris-Levallois, his agent Doug Neustadt confirmed to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.
The deal includes contract outs for both NBA and other European teams.
The 35-year-old has played the last 14 seasons in the NBA, most recently with the Utah Jazz. Utah waived him in July, and there had been reports of interest from teams like the Toronto Raptors.
If his career on this side of the Atlantic is indeed over, it represents the loss of one of the league's more colorful personalities. From installing an espresso machine in his locker as a member of the San Antonio Spurs to weight problems earlier in his career, Diaw has carved out a niche as one of the NBA's most interesting players.
While leaned on as more of a scorer in his early days with the Phoenix Suns, Diaw's peak effectiveness was with the Spurs from 2012-16, frequently coming off the bench to play center. His performance in the 2014 Finals - against the Miami Heat - was critical in San Antonio capturing its fifth NBA title.
