Beasley: Knicks can be playoff team
Michael Beasley's global basketball journey has brought him to the New York Knicks, where he met with media Tuesday. And while Derrick Rose is no longer with the team, Beasley didn't seem to have trouble channeling him when asked how the Knicks will fare this season.
Beasley said with him, Melo, KP and Hardaway, they have the makings of not only a playoff team but they can be a 5 or 6 seed.

"Hardaway" is, of course, prized New York free-agent signing Tim Hardaway Jr.
Last summer, Rose suggested the Knickerbockers, with his addition, were a "superteam." New York promptly finished the season 31-51.
The quotable Beasley, who signed with Knicks last month after playing 56 games with the Milwaukee Bucks in 2016-17, also offered a defense of his own defense.
"I'm not as bad a defender as you say I am," Beasley told reporters, according to Slam's Yaron Weitzman. The 28-year-old also said he's slimmed down somewhat.

"I'm tired of moving," Beasley, who's played for five NBA teams and two squads in China, said. "I would love New York to be my home."
