Rasheed Wallace was a lot of things in his 16-year NBA career, but he's not a dietitian.
Philadelphia 76ers big man Amir Johnson on Monday recounted some questionable advice dispensed by the grizzled veteran Wallace when they played together on the Detroit Pistons from 2005-09.
"I think Rasheed Wallace told me to drink beer once to gain weight," Johnson said at Sixers Media Day, per The Athletic's Derek Bodner.
The Pistons drafted Johnson with the No. 56 pick in 2005, the final player to go directly from high school to the NBA without being a year removed from graduation. His old DraftExpress profile lists the high school senior at 6-foot-10, 204 pounds; today, Johnson tips the scales at closer to 240 pounds.
