Thanks to the President of the United States unnecessarily injecting himself into sports stories over the weekend, it's further opened the discussion - conversely, quite necessarily - about race in America.

So, when C.J. McCollum showed an appreciation for some of San Antonio Spurs coach Gregg Popovich's words on the topic Monday, he naturally ran into some Twitter interference.

Out came the hammer.
