Though the Brooklyn Nets showed plenty of encouraging signs in their season opener, all their hopes were dashed midway through the fourth quarter.
Nets guard Jeremy Lin sustained what appeared to be a non-contact knee injury on a drive to the basket. Lin immediately clutched his right knee upon landing, wearing a look of shock, then mouthed "I'm done" before he broke down in tears.
The Nets will evaluate Lin on Wednesday night before making an official diagnosis, but a league source told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski that the team has "tremendous concern" about the injury.
Lin finished with 18 points and four assists in 25 minutes.
