It didn't take long for Jameer Nelson to make a mark on his new team.
The veteran point guard, who joined the New Orleans Pelicans Sunday, was active for their contest against the Los Angeles Lakers and knocked down a 3-pointer with 1:26 remaining to extend his club's lead to seven.
The Pels were up by 22 points at one point, but blew the lead following a late, furious rally from the Purple and Gold. The visitors redeemed themselves, though, with a 13-2 run to finish the contest and earn their first victory of the season, 119-112.
Fresh off landing in L.A. and taking an Uber to Staples, Nelson finished with five points and five assists in 24 minutes off the bench.
