Norman Powell suffers hip injury vs. Celtics
Toronto Raptors small forward Norman Powell suffered a right hip pointer in Sunday's game against the Boston Celtics.
Powell bumped into Celtics center Aron Baynes while fighting through a screen and came up limping. He left for the locker room and was ruled out minutes later.
The Raptors were already thin at the small forward spot before Powell's injury. Veteran shooter C.J. Miles will see more time, while rookie swingman OG Anunoby will likely have to slide down from power forward to be the backup at the three.
Powell is averaging nine points in 23.8 minutes per game this season. His shooting percentages are lower than usual but his activity on defense and his ability to slash to the rim make him a valuable contributor to Toronto's starting unit.
