Gregg Popovich ties Phil Jackson on all-time wins list for head coaches

With a 108-101 victory over the Charlotte Hornets Friday night, San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich earned the 1,155th regular-season victory of his career, tying him with Phil Jackson for the sixth-most wins in NBA history.

Of the coaches in the top 10, Popovich has the second-strongest winning percentage (.694) behind Jackson (.704). His 166 victories in the playoffs are also the third-most ever behind both Jackson (229) and Pat Riley (171).
Popovich can move past Jackson on Sunday when the Spurs host the visiting Phoenix Suns at the AT&T Center.
