Report: Mindaugas Kuzminskas' reps gauging trade interest
The season isn't going the way Mindaugas Kuzminskas had envisioned, so his days in the Big Apple could be numbered.
Despite being perfectly healthy, the New York Knicks small forward hasn't played at all this season. Kuzminskas has voiced his concerns to his reps, who are reportedly gauging interest around the league, according to Marc Berman of The Post.
"It's kind of disappointing," he told Berman on Friday.
The Lithuanian forward expected to have an increased role from last season after outplaying other NBA players in the European Championships over the summer.
"And then to come here, you're inactive," he said. "You're nothing - not in the rotation, not even on the (active) roster."
Though Kuzminskas is entering just his second NBA campaign, the 28-year-old is much older than most sophomores, so he doesn't want to waste time in a situation where he isn't given the chance to contribute.
"I feel I'm right now the next two, three years is going to be my peak," he said. "I'm feeling great physically and mentally and know I'm ready. I'm not a guy who feels good about myself but I feel I can play here. Last year I played good usually. It's really hard."
The 3-point specialist averaged 6.3 points, 1.9 rebounds, and an assist in 14.9 minutes over 68 games last season for the Knicks. He's owed $3 million in 2017-18 - the final year of his deal.
