LeBron continues dominance vs. Kemba, improves to 20-0 in matchup
LeBron James has Kemba Walker's number.
The 32-year-old superstar led the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 115-107 victory over Walker and the Charlotte Hornets on Wednesday night, marking his 20th straight win against the former UConn star.
The streak is James' longest against any opponent, dating back to 2011. Including the postseason - specifically four playoff games in 2014 - the record is 24-0. He also has a 24-1 record against the Hornets since Michael Jordan became the majority owner, and notched a career-high 61 points against them in 2014.
James registered 31 points, eight assists, six rebounds, two steals, and a block in 36 minutes in the "huge win," and was pleased with his team's effort throughout the contest.
"We played a 48-minute game tonight and that was big time," he said in his walk-off interview, adding he's seen improvement in the club's defense, which still ranks last in the association.
Cleveland held the Hornets to just 40 points in the second half, and outscored them by 14 to seal its third straight win and improve to 8-7 on the season.
Walker was limited to 20 points on 41.2 percent shooting from the field, which is slightly below his season averages but in line with how he normally fares against James-led squads.
The All-Star point guard will get another shot to take down the King next Friday at Quicken Loans Arena.
