Report: Clippers discussing potential DeAndre trade with 'multiple teams'
DeAndre Jordan could be on his way out of Tinseltown.
The Los Angeles Clippers have included their starting center in trade conversations with "multiple teams," according to The Washington Post's Tim Bontemps.
L.A. has dropped nine straight games and 11 of its last 12, and if the struggles continue, a fire sale could be in order. The Clippers have been hit with injuries to three starters, and severely lack the depth and overall talent required to withstand the setbacks in the tough Western Conference.
Despite its woes, the club is only two games out of a playoff spot, so it could bide its time until Danilo Gallinari and Milos Teodosic return, although Patrick Beverley will reportedly miss the remainder of the campaign with a knee injury.
Alternatively, the Clippers could accept it's time to blow it up, and commit to a proper rebuild around Blake Griffin, whom they locked up to a five-year, $173-million contract this past offseason.
Jordan, 29, is owed $22.6 million this season and can opt out of his deal in the summer. The 10th-year big man's averaging 10.1 points on 64.5 percent shooting to go along with 13.7 rebounds and 1.1 blocks in 32.4 minutes per game. He earned his first All-Star nod last year while Griffin and Chris Paul were sidelined.
