Embiid visits Meek Mill: Prison is scary, but I wanted to show support

The Process paid a visit to Meek Mill.

Joel Embiid and Philadelphia 76ers co-owner Michael Rubin visited the rapper in prison last Friday and "really lifted Meek's spirits," according to TMZ Sports.

Embiid admitted he was terrified visiting the cell, but he really wanted to be there for his friend.

"First of all, it was scary," he said, as quoted by NBC Sports' Jessica Camerato. "I'm never going to jail. I got into that place and I was pretty scared.

"I just wanted to go out there, support him, pretty good friend of mine. So I just wanted to go out there, show him some support, and let him know that we’re behind him. There was a little bit of injustice there so I just wanted to go out there with whoever I was to show him the support.”

Earlier this month, the Philly-born performer was sentenced to between two and four years in jail for violating probation in his 2008 drug and weapons case.

Rubin wrote a letter of support for the 30-year-old before his conviction.
