Derrick Rose can't catch a break, and as a result, the Cleveland Cavaliers may be without the former MVP for longer than anticipated.
Rose revealed Friday he has a bone spur in his left ankle, according to ESPN's Dave McMenamin. He added that it may require surgery, depending on the results of his rehab.
It was Rose's first conversation with the media since he returned to the team Monday.
Rose injured his ankle Nov. 7 against the Milwaukee Bucks. He's averaging 14.3 points and 1.7 assists in seven games this season.
The Cavaliers are 13-1 since his injury.
