The new year has already gotten off on the wrong foot for James Harden.

The Houston Rockets guard was diagnosed with a Grade 2 hamstring strain Monday, the team announced. Harden will miss at least the next two weeks until he is re-evaluated, but could potentially sit out longer with the injury.

Harden injured himself late in Sunday's matchup against the Los Angeles Lakers. With just over 50 seconds left in the fourth quarter, Harden drove for a lay-up but appeared to tweak his hamstring in the process.

The 28-year-old leads the league in points per game this season with 32.3. He's also averaging 9.1 assists and five rebounds in 36.3 minutes.
