Report: Sefolosha to undergo season-ending surgery for MCL injury
Utah Jazz forward Thabo Sefolosha is expected to undergo surgery to repair an MCL injury in his right knee and will reportedly miss the rest of the 2017-18 season as a result, according to Yahoo Sports' Shams Charania.
Sources told the New York Times' Marc Stein that Sefolosha is estimated to miss at least six months following the procedure, sidelining the Swiss native until mid-summer at the earliest.
Stein also reported earlier Saturday Sefolosha suffered the injury in Friday's loss to the Charlotte Hornets, and there were already fears in Utah the wing player would miss an extended period of time with the ailment.
The 33-year-old signed a two-year deal with the Jazz this past July.
He averaged 8.2 points on 49.2 percent shooting to go along with 4.2 rebounds and 1.4 steals per game this season.
