Orlando Magic guard Arron Afflalo has been suspended two games for throwing a punch at Minnesota Timberwolves forward Nemanja Bjelica on Tuesday night, the league announced Thursday.
Afflalo was fortunate that his wild swing at Bjelica's head didn't connect. Were the incident judged on intent rather than outcome, the suspension would likely have been a good deal stiffer.
Afflalo is in the midst of the worst season of his 11-year career, averaging three points and 1.2 rebounds while shooting 38 percent from the field and 35 percent from 3-point range.
