The Utah Jazz are a team to watch with the trade deadline looming, as they have reportedly made guard Rodney Hood available, according to Marc Stein of The New York Times.
The Jazz were prepared to allow Hood take over the offense at the start of the season after losing Gordon Hayward to the Boston Celtics. And then, rookie Donovan Mitchell emerged as a budding star and Hood became the No. 2 option.
Hood is still averaging a career-high 16.7 points while shooting a respectable 38.6 percent from three. He is in the final year of his contract, making $2.39 million this season.
Any team that acquires Hood will retain his bird rights, giving them the flexibility of signing him to a longer contract than any other team this upcoming offseason.
