Report: Warriors interested in Kyle O'Quinn
The Golden State Warriors want to add a center before making their fourth straight run at The Finals. To that end, they've shown interest in New York Knicks center Kyle O'Quinn, according to ESPN's Ian Begley.
The Knicks have a surplus at the center spot and presumably want to offload someone at the upcoming trade deadline.
O'Quinn has been inconsistent, but he does much of what the Warriors need from their centers. He's physical, takes up space in the paint, is a decent finisher around the rim, and can facilitate from the high post when he resists the allure of launching a midrange shot.
Golden State currently has Zaza Pachulia in that role, but the lumbering Georgian has always struggled to score and has been outplayed by backup center David West.
The 27-year-old O'Quinn makes an affordable $4.1 million and holds a player option worth $4.3 million for next season that he would presumably decline to explore free agency.
