Report: Bucks contacted Hornets about Kemba Walker
The Milwaukee Bucks are aggressively seeking upgrades ahead of the upcoming trade deadline.
Even after acquiring Eric Bledsoe earlier this season, the Bucks are still in the market for a point guard. One target on the Bucks' radar is Charlotte Hornets point guard Kemba Walker, according to Marc Stein of the New York Times.
Milwaukee made an inquiry sometime before Hornets owner Michael Jordan stated publicly that he would rather not deal Walker. Jordan, however, added the caveat that he's always open to offers and that he would need an All-Star if he were to part with his franchise player.
The Bucks already have Bledsoe as their starting point guard and reigning Rookie of the Year Malcolm Brogdon coming off the bench in addition to Giannis Antetokounmpo being able to serve as the primary playmaker. That being said, Walker is a proven scorer that could give the Bucks a much-needed scoring threat on the perimeter.
Walker is averaging 21.8 points and 5.9 assists this season for a Hornets team that appears to be on the verge of a rebuild.
