Report: Jazz interested in Knicks' Hernangomez

The Utah Jazz are pondering a move for the New York Knicks' castoff center.

Second-year big man Willy Hernangomez, said to be receiving the most attention among the Knicks' centers, is reportedly drawing interest from the Jazz, sources told the Daily News' Stefan Bondy.

Hernangomez admitted that while he welcomes the trade rumors, he isn't focused on them.

"I feel good to know that I'm not even playing and a lot of teams are interested in me. That makes you happy, you can see that you did something good and somebody thinks you can be good in this league," Hernangomez told Bondy. "Like I said, I'm not worried about what's going to happen in the next couple of weeks.

"I'm working to be ready for my minutes to come. I'll be ready. I got a chance to play here, whatever it is."

Acquired in a draft-day deal in 2015 from the Philadelphia 76ers, Hernangomez didn't sign with the Knicks until 2016 after spending a year with Real Madrid's senior team in Europe. The 23-year-old looked like a promising international prospect in his rookie campaign but is now struggling to find consistent playing time, stuck firmly behind Kyle O'Quinn in the Knicks' pecking order; he's playing just 9.7 minutes per game this season, nearly half of last year's mark (18.4).

In 21 appearances this season, Hernangomez is averaging 4.6 points and 2.9 rebounds.
