Kyrie denies threatening surgery to force trade from Cavs
Boston Celtics point guard Kyrie Irving loves a conspiracy theory as much as the next guy, but sometimes it's just outright false.
A report surfaced earlier this week stating Irving threatened to undergo surgery and sit out the season if the Cleveland Cavaliers denied his demands for a trade last summer. Irving flatly denied that claim when asked about it after Celtics practice on Sunday.
"Nah. It's kinda crazy the amount of things that are still coming out, that are still trying to be relevant. Guess that's part of being in the NBA and all the media scrutiny and everything that goes with it. I'm just ready to move on," Irving told Chris Forsberg of ESPN.
"It's not true," he added.

Irving was later pressed if he will eventually need knee surgery, to which he responded with an allusion to the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, which protects the privacy of medical information.
