Report: Knicks ask about Hollis-Jefferson, Nets want 1st-round pick
The New York Knicks are trying to convince Rondae Hollis-Jefferson to switch boroughs.
The Knicks inquired as to Hollis-Jefferson's availability, to which the Brooklyn Nets responded by demanding a first-round pick for the services of their versatile forward, according to Marc Berman of the New York Post.
Hollis-Jefferson has developed into a two-way player in his third season with the Nets. The former 23rd pick is averaging 14.3 points and 6.5 rebounds while flourishing as a smallball four. The jumper is still a work in progress, but he is converting a career-high 47.2 percent of his shots while also getting to the line 4.7 times per game.
The Knicks have a rather glaring hole in the forward spot, as their current candidates are either undersized defensively or incapable on offense. RHJ would fit their roster nicely, but the Nets have obviously invested too much into his development to let him walk across town for a marginal return.
