Report: No urgency for Clippers to deal Jordan, Williams

While conventional wisdom in the wake of Blake Griffin's blockbuster trade might suggest a full Los Angeles Clippers roster teardown, that may not be the case.

There is no more urgency for the Clippers to trade DeAndre Jordan and Lou Williams than there was before the Griffin deal, league sources told ESPN's Zach Lowe, though the team will still listen to offers.

Jordan and Williams are logical trade candidates given their expiring contracts - the former with a player option, the latter as an unrestricted free agent. The Cleveland Cavaliers and Portland Trail Blazers have been rumored to be interested in Jordan, although he could still re-sign with L.A.

By trading Griffin, the Clippers got out from under his five-year, $171-million contract and have created instant cap flexibility. The only rotation players with contracts guaranteed for next year are now Danilo Gallinari, Tobias Harris, Boban Marjanovic, and Sam Dekker. That flexibility, combined with their location in Tinseltown, should make the Clippers players in free agency whether they keep Jordan or not.
