Kerr: Warriors' effort 'pathetic' in loss to Jazz
Following the Golden State Warriors' 129-99 loss to the Utah Jazz on Tuesday night, head coach Steve Kerr first blamed the showing on Salt Lake City's notoriously tame nightlife.
Then he got serious.
"I saw one team get their ass kicked," Kerr said, via ESPN's Chris Haynes. "That's what I saw. I think our guys will tell you that was a pathetic effort out there. That was disgusting basketball."
The Warriors have been the NBA's feelgood story for over three years now, but Kerr hasn't been afraid to call a spade a spade when his team underperforms. The Jazz shot 58 percent in the contest, the highest single-game field-goal percentage allowed by the Warriors since Kerr became coach in 2014.
"We just didn't start out the game with any force defensively," Kerr added. "We weren't staying into bodies, they were just stopping behind screens, we were lazy on our switches. We played with no sense of urgency, no sense of purpose."
Utah is always tough at home, and is 15-9 there this season.
