Report: Magic checking Gordon's trade value before deadline
After another rough season in Orlando, the Magic are reportedly gauging the trade market for one of their roster's few bright spots in Aaron Gordon, according to The Athletic's Michael Scotto.
Gordon will be a restricted free agent this upcoming offseason after failing to come to an agreement with the Magic on an extension.
The failed talks likely benefited the forward, as he's having a career year, averaging 18.4 points and 8.3 rebounds while showing a slightly better touch from the perimeter.
The Magic started the year 8-4 and have gone 7-31 ever since, suffering a bunch of injuries to key players, including Gordon.
The Magic are already paying four players $10-million-plus for at least the next two seasons, and could be hesitant to add a potential max extension for Gordon to that list if they're unable to unload one of their bad contracts.
