Report: Kerr won't be disciplined for deleted tweet criticizing NBA
Steve Kerr's technological miscue Thursday night won't result in a slap on the wrist.
The Golden State Warriors head coach will not be subject to any discipline for a deleted tweet in which he criticized NBA officiating for failing to regularly enforce violations, sources told ESPN's Chris Haynes.
The league didn't see any reason to come down hard on Kerr, since his message wasn't intended to be public, per Haynes' source.
Kerr's tweet was in regards to a video of Houston Rockets guard James Harden appearing to take a few extra steps prior to drilling a 3-pointer in LaMarcus Aldridge's eye.
"It's an embarrassment," tweeted Kerr. "I think the league is so happy with all the scoring that it doesn't want to enforce stuff like that."
Kerr ultimately owned up to his tweet, admitting Friday that it was meant to be a direct message to one of his friends, but as he's still trying to figure out how to use his Twitter and iPhone 10, he accidentally sent it out as a tweet to all of his followers instead.
Player development coach Chris DeMarco assisted Kerr in getting rid of the tweet, but the damage was already done.
