Embiid to play 1st NBA back-to-back, then jet off to Super Bowl
The Process continues.
Philadelphia 76ers center Joel Embiid is scheduled to play against the Indiana Pacers on Saturday night, coach Brett Brown told NBC's Jessica Camerato, completing his first NBA back-to-back.
Embiid played 31 minutes in Friday's 103-97 win over the Miami Heat.
Brown and the 76ers have been careful with Embiid given his injury history. The second game of the back-to-back will be the center's 71st NBA contest.
"I'm a NBA player and I feel like I've been ready, but the team had other plans," Embiid told ESPN. "I'm glad I get the opportunity. I feel great. My body feels great."
After the game in Indianapolis, Embiid said he will fly to Minneapolis to watch the Eagles in Sunday's Super Bowl.
"I want to feel the experience," Embiid said, according to Camerato. "I've heard that's like the biggest event in American sports, so I want to experience that."
