Could DeAndre Jordan go from Lob City to Rip City?

The Los Angeles Clippers have discussed trading their longtime starting center to the Portland Trail Blazers, but no formal offer has been made, NBA officials told The LA Times' Broderick Turner.

Los Angeles is reportedly looking to net young players, draft-pick compensation, and cap flexibility in return for the 29-year-old defensive anchor - which is similar to its haul for Blake Griffin in the recent blockbuster.

Teams have been hesitant to give up that much for Jordan, who can become an unrestricted free agent this summer if he declines his $24.1-million player option for 2018-19.

The athletic, high-flying big man is averaging 11.6 points, 14.9 rebounds, 1.2 assists, and a block over 46 games this season. He'd bolster the Blazers' defense and rebounding (which already rank in the top 10) while also improving their finishing around the rim.

Portland sits sixth in the Western Conference and has the sixth-highest payroll in the NBA.
