Report: 5 teams showing interest in trading for Jazz's Hood
Rodney Hood is quite the popular fella ahead of Thursday's NBA trade deadline.
The Oklahoma City Thunder, Detroit Pistons, and Chicago Bulls have shown interest in acquiring the Utah Jazz guard, according to The Salt Lake Tribune's Tony Jones.
The Denver Nuggets and Orlando Magic are also throwing their names in the hat, although their interest is less than that of the aforementioned teams.
Utah isn't going to just give away the 25-year-old, though, as they're looking for a worthwhile asset in return, with a first-round draft pick being the best-case scenario.
Hood is the Jazz's second-leading scorer, averaging 16.4 points, 2.9 rebounds, and 1.6 assists on 41.3 percent shooting across 37 appearances. Most of his time comes as a reserve, with the emergence of rookie Donovan Mitchell moving him out of the starting two spot.
Ankle and calf injuries have also sidelined him for chunks of time.
Hood is only making $2.3 million this season, as he's still under his rookie-scale deal. Any team that lands him would get his Bird rights - the power to ink him to a longer contract than any other team.
