Former NBA center Kendrick Perkins is leaving the G League's Canton Charge, according to multiple reports.
Stories vary about what's next for the 33-year-old big man. He could look for a post-trade deadline NBA contract or an overseas deal, according to SI.com's Jake Fischer, or officially retire, sources told 2 Ways and 10 Days' Adam Johnson.
Either way, if Perkins is leaving Canton, it would end the possibility of being called up to the parent Cleveland Cavaliers, whom Perkins spent training camp with and played for in 2014-15. When the Cavs signed the center that season, LeBron James lauded the addition of Perkins for his "championship DNA".
Perkins averaged 8.7 points and 7.1 rebounds with Canton. He last played in the NBA for the Pelicans in 2015-16.
