LaVar: Lonzo 'will go to any team that will take all 3 of my boys'
LaVar Ball has a vision of all three of his sons playing for the Los Angeles Lakers, and he has a plan to turn that vision into reality.
LaVar says he'll use his eldest son Lonzo's NBA pedigree as leverage to get his younger sons, LiAngelo and LaMelo - both currently playing for Lithuania's BC Prienai - in the door.
"I want all my three boys to play for the Lakers," LaVar said, according to 24sek's Donatas Urbanos. "But if that does not happen, I'm telling you the story what's gonna happen first. If they don't take Gelo this year, I bring Gelo back here (Prienai) to play with Melo for two years. Lonzo will be on his third year and I want to let every NBA team know, Lonzo is not going to re-sign with the Lakers but will go to any team that will take all three of my boys. That's my plan."
Lonzo, currently in his rookie season, will likely be under the Lakers' control through at least the 2020-2021 season, at which point he can become a restricted free agent.
In five games with Prienai, the younger Ball brothers have combined to average 21.4 points, three rebounds, and 3.4 assists.
