The long-awaited sequel to Shaquille O'Neal's infamous 1994 fighting game Shaq Fu is becoming a reality.
Shaq Fu: A Legend Reborn was successfully crowdfunded on Indiegogo in 2014, raising more than $450,000. On Thursday, developer Saber Interactive and publisher Wired Production announced the video game will come to PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Windows PC, and Nintendo Switch this spring.
As for why it took so long for the game to be released, Big Deez Productions, which partnered with Shaq on the project, revealed in an update on the Indiegogo page that it encountered "unforeseen difficulties."
In a recent interview with Mashable, Shaq said the sequel will have "great graphics, great storylines, and something different."
