Warriors touring African-American museum with students in lieu of White House visit
The Golden State Warriors are doing some good on their day off in D.C.
They will tour the National Museum of African American History and Culture with students from Kevin Durant's hometown of Seat Pleasant, Md. on Tuesday, according to ESPN's Chris Haynes.
It's the activity the reigning champions agreed on after President Donald Trump withdrew their invitation to the White House over Stephen Curry's unwillingness to go.
"White House is a great honor, but there's some other circumstances that make me feel uncomfortable going," Klay Thompson told reporters Monday.
"We're not gonna politicize anything, we're just gonna go hang out with some kids, take them to the African-American Museum, and hopefully teach them things we learned along the way, and life lessons. Hope we give them some great memories."
Trump took to Twitter to tell the Warriors they were no longer welcome at the White House in response to Curry saying he hoped his team would skip the visit because he doesn't support Trump's policies.
Golden State takes on the Washington Wizards on Wednesday night.
