LeBron flattered by 'dope' billboards aimed to lure him to 76ers
Move over, imitation. Signage may be the sincerest form of flattery.
LeBron James said he was flattered when he heard three billboards were erected on a Cleveland highway to try to recruit him to join the Philadelphia 76ers.
"It is (flattering)," James told reporters Tuesday.
"Absolutely. You can say it's a distraction, it's not. Not a distraction. It's actually very flattering that I'm sitting here at 33 and in my 15th year and teams or guys - I don't want to say teams because that becomes tampering. But people in their respective city want me to play for them. That's cool, I think. That's dope."
Paid for by Philly-based Power Home Remodeling, the billboard urges James to "Complete the Process" by signing with the Sixers this summer when he hits unrestricted free agency.
James is averaging 26.6 points, 8.9 assists, 8.3 rebounds, 1.5 steals, and a block over 59 games for the Cavaliers, who sit 2.5 games ahead of the 76ers. The teams will square off Thursday at Quicken Loans Arena.
