The Milwaukee Bucks are expected to sign free-agent forward Shabazz Muhammad when he clears waivers on Saturday, sources told Yahoo's Shams Charania.

Muhammad was bought out by the Minnesota Timberwolves on Thursday, just ahead of the playoff-eligibility deadline. The Bucks could use some added depth on the wing - with Mirza Teletovic on the shelf indefinitely and Tony Snell recently picking up a thigh contusion - but they'll need more from Muhammad than he gave the Wolves this season. He's averaging a career-low 3.8 points and 1.4 rebounds, while shooting career worsts from the field (38.8 percent) and 3-point range (21.1).

Muhammad has never been much of a defender and is a notorious black hole offensively (he's recorded just seven total assists this season), but he was at least a productive scorer once. Prior to this season, the 25-year-old had never averaged fewer than 17.8 points per 36 minutes. He's down to 14.4 per 36 this year. He's played just 301 minutes, but those minutes have been disastrous enough to drag the Wolves' net rating down from 5.8 to 3.2. They've performed 26.3 points per 100 possessions worse with him on the floor.

The Bucks will waive shooting guard Sean Kilpatrick in order to make room on the roster for Muhammad, sources told ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. Kilpatrick will reportedly be waived before midnight, so he too will be playoff-eligible if another team signs him.

Kilpatrick, who had his two-way contract converted to a full-season deal in January, averaged four points and 1.1 rebounds while shooting 37.8 percent from the field and 28.3 percent from deep in 23 games with the Bucks.
