Lil Rel Howery: Kyrie found out about trade to Celtics on set of 'Uncle Drew'
Finally we may know exactly what Kyrie Irving was doing when he found out he had just become a member of the Boston Celtics.
Lil Rel Howery, who co-stars with Irving in the upcoming film "Uncle Drew" says the Celtics guard found out he had been dealt by the Cleveland Cavaliers while they were in the middle of shooting the film last summer.
"The dopest moment was when the trade actually went through, he was so happy, man," Howery told ESPN Sunday at the Academy Awards. "We were shooting a scene, his homeboy came in, whispered in his ear, and he just runs out the set.
"We're filming. ... He comes back and everybody's applauding. And it was a dancing scene so when you see the movie and he's really getting it, that's him in real life. He was really happy."
"Uncle Drew" will release in the United States on June 29, 2018.
