L2M: Morris committed 5-count, traveled before hitting game-winner vs. Thunder
The Boston Celtics committed grand larceny Tuesday night, robbing the Oklahoma City Thunder blind by overcoming a six-point deficit in the final 24 seconds to make off with a 100-99 win. According to the Last Two Minute Report, the officials unwittingly abetted the heist.
The Celtics won on a Marcus Morris 3-pointer with just over a second remaining, but the report found that Morris committed two violations before getting the shot off. Morris, who was the inbounder on the final play, committed a five-second violation before getting rid of the ball. After getting it back on the right wing four seconds later, he traveled while side-stepping Paul George and setting up for the go-ahead three.
The report showed that Celtics guard Terry Rozier also got away with two traveling violations in the final two minutes.
It must be mentioned, however, that all three of those uncalled travels were observable only in enhanced video, and the missed five-count was discovered only with the use of a stopwatch. Catching all or any of them in real time would've required robot-like precision.
