Curry upgraded to probable Friday vs. Hawks
The Golden State Warriors could be getting one of their injured stars back very soon.
Stephen Curry has been updated to probable for Friday's contest versus the Atlanta Hawks, head coach Steve Kerr announced, via 95.7 The Game.
The All-NBA point guard has been sidelined since suffering a sprained ankle on March 8. Curry looked good in Thursday's practice, according to Kerr.
The two-time MVP is averaging 26.3 points, 6.2 assists, 5.1 rebounds, and 1.6 steals over 50 games this season. Two-way player Quinn Cook has been starting in Curry's absence, with the Warriors going 2-4 over that span.
While Curry is set to return soon, his All-Star teammates - Kevin Durant, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green - will remain on the shelf. Kerr indicated Green is the closest to a comeback, as he'll likely practice Saturday and could play Sunday if all goes well. Despite the rash of injuries, Golden State (53-18) won't lose footing in the standings, as the team will almost certainly finish No. 2 in the Western Conference.
