Zeke Upshaw in 'physicians care' after collapsing on court in G League game
The Grand Rapids Drive, the G League affiliate of the Detroit Pistons, have provided an update on forward Zeke Upshaw, who collapsed on the court late in Saturday's game against the Long Island Nets.
"Zeke was transported to Spectrum Hospital after collapsing on the court in the closing seconds of last night's game and is currently under physicians care," the Drive's statement reads. "Out of respect to Zeke and his family, further updates will be provided when available."
Upshaw collapsed in Saturday's game with just under a minute remaining in the fourth quarter. While defending a Nets player on an inbounds play, Upshaw maneuvered around a set screen, making light contact in the process, and fell to the floor immediately after. After being tended to by medical staff, the 26-year-old was removed from the game on a stretcher and taken to the hospital.
