Thunder broadcaster apologizes for offensive remark about Westbrook
Oklahoma City Thunder broadcaster Brian Davis apologized for using a racially insensitive phrase during Wednesday's broadcast.
Davis, who has called Thunder games for the last eight seasons, described a sensational pass by Russell Westbrook by saying the star guard was "out of his cotton-picking mind."

Dan Mahoney, the Thunder's vice president of broadcasting, told Fred Katz of the Norman Transcript that the organization explained to Davis that the phrase was offensive, and Davis apologized.
"We find the term used by Brian Davis on our broadcast last night to be highly inappropriate and offensive," Mahoney said. "We’ve discussed it with the announcer and let him know that. He assures us it was not meant in any sort of offensive or derogatory manner and he apologizes."
