Wizards' Porter out indefinitely after undergoing leg procedure
The Washington Wizards will have their work cut out for them in their bid to advance to the second round, as they'll be without their starting small forward.
Otto Porter Jr. underwent a left lower leg fasciotomy for compartment syndrome Friday and is out indefinitely, the team announced.
Porter has been dealing with a bone bruise and went under the knife to address a buildup of blood flow in the area. He's expected to miss the remainder of the first round against the first-place Toronto Raptors should the eighth-seeded Wizards, who are down 3-2, push the series to seven games.
The 24-year-old was listed as questionable entering the contest in D.C. and didn't attend shootaround. His numbers have dipped in the playoffs to 10 points, five rebounds, 1.6 assists, and 1.2 steals in five games.
Kelly Oubre Jr. figures to draw the start in his absence, with Mike Scott also picking up more minutes. Washington has won both its games at Capital One Arena and dropped all three contests in Toronto.
