Fred VanVleet to play Game 2 vs. Wizards
The Bench Mob will be reunited for Game 2.
The Toronto Raptors will have backup point guard Fred VanVleet in the lineup against the Washington Wizards on Tuesday, the team announced.
VanVleet missed Game 1 with a sore shoulder, and was initially ruled as doubtful for Game 2 after going through morning shootaround. He sustained the injury during the fourth quarter of Toronto's loss to the Miami Heat on the final night of the regular season in a collision with Bam Adebayo.
The Raptors overcame VanVleet's absence and secured an elusive Game 1 victory thanks in large part to an 18-point performance by his backcourt partner Delon Wright.
VanVleet averaged 8.6 points and 3.2 assists this season while shooting 41.4 percent from deep in 20 minutes per game. He is the leader of Toronto's bench, and often closes games with their starters.
